Monday, September 11, 2006Adds FireWire I/O and tapeless workflows with Panasonic P2 support
Media 100 has announced version 11.5. "Media 100 11.5 serves as the nexus for existing Media 100 customers. The support of FireWire I/O and the Panasonic P2 format enables existing customers to incorporate the latest digital capture and output technologies, streamlining their workflows and continuing to realize a return on their investment," Said Boris Yamnitsky, President, Media 100.
Highlights of the 11.5 release include:
* Support for FireWire I/O: Using Pure DV, users have the ability to capture to DV or any supported Media 100 codec and then output to native DV in real-time.
* Support for Panasonic P2 Format: Real-time acquisition of Panasonic P2 material gives Media 100 users yet another format to work with natively.
* Embedded SDI Audio: Existing HDx Media 100 users can streamline the audio capture process and acquire embedded SDI audio in standard definition.
* Software-only Models - Media 100 Producer and Media 100 Producer Suite: Media 100 Producer and Media 100 Producer Suite are full-featured software-only models that offer users a mobile and scalable editing environment as well as FireWire and Panasonic P2 I/O capabilities.
"Ideal for 'in the field' or 'mobile' editing, editors using the Media 100 Producer models can shoot using their Panasonic P2 camera and immediately begin editing; they can even offload the media and continue to use their Panasonic P2 card. These new software-only models will be of tremendous value and time savings for our customers," said Rob Newman, Product Manager, Media 100.
