New Media 100 Product Line Goes HDV with Convergent Design
Monday, September 11, 2006Media 100 announced that they have qualified Convergent Design HD-Connect SI for Media 100 HD Suite, Media 100 HDe and Media 100 SDe. "We are excited to bring real-time conversion of HDV to HD/SD-SDI for Media 100 users. Our affordable HD-Connect SI coupled with Media 100 NLEs allows users to control their HDV device and perform batch captures for offline/online workflows. By converting the Long-GOP MPEG2 format of HDV to an I-Frame CODEC, HDV becomes just another HD tape format for Media 100," said Mike Schell, President, Convergent Design.
HD-Connect SI brings affordable conversion of HDV to HD/SD-SDI. This powerful box includes cross (1080i <-> 720p) as well as down conversion to SD (in anamorphic, letterbox or edge-crop). The versatile box supports Sony, JVC and Canon formats, including 720p24 and 1080i24F, and enables Media 100 customers using version 11 systems to capture HDV. "Media 100 is aggressively pursuing relationships with manufacturers who can expand and enhance the capabilities of the version 11 systems at a rapid pace," comments Rob Newman, Product Manager, Media 100. "We want to offer high-performance options so our customers can continue to compete and grow their business."
