Simplified administration, powerful synchronization tools, and automated "Health Reports" expand productivity and capabilities of EditShare media sharing and storage

EditShare has announced version 5.0 of their award-winning EditShare shared storage solutions. The new release brings improved ergonomics, simplified administration, and expanded capabilities to the EditShare shared-storage environment. New administration features and functions allow EditShare administrators to synchronize two or more servers regardless of geographic location, receive daily "health" reports detailing server activity, and minimize time to deploy with a new "plug and play" configuration. The vastly simplified file management structure enables EditShare users to organize their media files with greater speed and ease. Attendees to the NAB 2007 exhibition can see EditShare 5.0 at booth SL11105.

"When it comes to evolving the EditShare technology, we listen to our customers and value added resellers. The constant theme is the need for simplicity, reliability, and flexibility," comments Andy Liebman, CEO and Founder, EditShare. "We have taken their needs and combined them with our engineering innovation to produce one of the best shared media storage solutions on the market today... EditShare 5.0."

EditShare Version 5.0 Feature Highlights

* Powerful Synchronization Tool: Duplicate media files across two or more servers - whether they're located in the same building or on the other side of the world.

* Improved Shared Avid Projects: See warnings that other users' bins are locked. Move nested folders and bins without having to worry about permissions. Works flawlessly under both Mac OS X and Windows.

* Simplified Media Management: Variable levels of file protection. New "Read Only" option. New "Maintenance Mode" for deleting and modifying files.

* Limited Administration Rights: Grant specific controls on a per-user and per-Media Space basis. Authorized editors exercise their admin rights through EditShare Connect.

* Simplified Network Configuration: EditShare can now be configured to act just like a "switch". Plug in your workstations and connect to media or anything else on the office network.

* Daily "Health Report": Administrators receive a daily email detailing everything they need to know about their servers.

EditShare Version 5.0 will begin shipping in Q2 2007.
