A new addition to Boris Continuum Complete 5, UpRez is a fantastic filter that lets you upscale SD video to HD. In this Boris FX podcast, Dave DiPinto demonstrates a possible production scenario in Apple Final Cut Pro 6 where you have D1 resolution stock footage that you want to use in a 1080 HD project.
