Supporting both Windows and Macintosh (Universal Binary), the new FEC 5 AVX takes full advantage of AVX 2.0's power and performance. New features include support for 16 bit-color processing, AVX 2.0 real-time filters, native on-screen controls, multi-processor acceleration, a number of new wipe transition filters, and hundreds of factory-installed presets.

Boris Blue version 2 adds Avid AVX plug-in support, additional features for composing effects in 3D, and innovative new deformers and filters

Boris FX has announced Boris Blue 2. Boris Blue is a realtime motion graphics application. With the release of version 2, Boris Blue now offers an AVX plug-in option, enabling Avid editors to create sophisticated titles, transitions, and other 3D elements right in the Avid timeline. The interactive design experience is fueled by high performance NVIDIA hardware for realtime effects creation.

NAB2007 attendees can see Boris Blue at booth SL10520.

For the first time, Avid editors will be able to edit extruded text and imported 3D models right inside the Avid timeline - without having to render in another application. * Avid Plug-in Integration for Windows XP Avids; With Blue, Avid users now have access to unique features such as a sophisticated realtime particle engine and the ability to create effects using 3D models in the Avid timeline. AVX plug-in integration eliminates export/import of projects - simplifying online/offline workflow. Additionally, Blue effects can now be saved into Avid bins for re-use.

Boris Red and BCC AVX Support Avid on Intel-based Macs

Boris Red 4.1.3 and Boris Continuum Complete AVX 4.2.2 are now available as Universal Binary AVX plug-ins for Avid Media Composer 2.7 and Avid Xpress Pro 5.7. Boris Red and Boris Continuum Complete AVX take full advantage of the improved OpenGL graphics hardware available in the Mac Pro and MacBook Pro models, setting a new standard in performance and features.

Red 4.x customers who are upgrading Avid systems to the Intel Mac platform may download a free update from the Boris FX web site. Older versions of Red may be upgraded for $295 (part # BRUWM400).

BCC AVX 4.2.2 is included with the Avid Media Composer 2.7 Upgrade. BCC AVX 4.x customers who are upgrading to Xpress Pro 5.7 may upgrade to BCC AVX 4.2.2 for $50 (part # BCCXDVU422). Xpress Pro customers may upgrade older versions of BCC AVX for $249 (part # BCCXDVU400).

Red is available for $995 (part # BRWM400). BCC AVX is available starting at $795 (part # BCCXDV400) for Avid Xpress Pro systems.
