Bluefish444 Adds Autodesk 3ds Max Support

Thursday, June 28, 2007

Bluefish444 has added a range of capabilities directly within Autodesk 3ds Max, taking advantage of HD and SD input and output features. Widely requested by customers, 3ds Max users with Bluefish444 video cards are now able to monitor HD and SD from the 3ds Max render preview. This feature allows 3ds Max artists to preview output in broadcast color space instead of relying solely on VGA monitors which can vary in quality and accuracy.

Highlights

* 3ds Max users can take advantage of HDTV and SDTV broadcast monitoring including automatic preview scaling when the renderer output is different than the output video mode of the Bluefish444 hardware.

* 3ds Max utilizes Bluefish444's on-board keyer (when available) for superimposition of the rendered preview over live video.

* Artists may preview RGB or alpha channel data on a broadcast monitor.

* A frame of a video signal present on the inputs of Bluefish444 hardware may be used as a static texture; grab it to any 3ds Max-supported bitmap format or use it as a Viewport Background for rotoscoping or tracing.

* All Bluefish444 plug-in settings are saved within the 3ds Max project file.

3ds Max support is included as part of Bluefish444's new v5.4.8 installer, freely downloadable from the Bluefish444 web site. The new 3ds Max plug-in is for v8 and v9 of 3ds Max and supports all Bluefish444 video cards.
